At our last house I had a picture of Martha on a bulletin board by my sewing/crafting table. It was a [dorky] joke with myself - a reminder not to do anything that I'd later regret (sort of like a crucifix above the bed). If I had that picture near me while working on this project I would have been forced to flip Martha over.
I needed something with a bit of extra padding to use outside on the deck when I let the little one hang out sans diaper. So three layers of cotton batting, part of a vintage vera sheet and some haphazard sewing came together to make this quilt. No measuring, no ironing, no pinning -
just some renegade sewing. And most importantly, this play mat was made, start to finish, during one nap time.
