At our last house I had a picture of Martha on a bulletin board by my sewing/crafting table. It was a [dorky] joke with myself - a reminder not to do anything that I'd later regret (sort of like a crucifix above the bed). If I had that picture near me while working on this project I would have been forced to flip Martha over.
I needed something with a bit of extra padding to use outside on the deck when I let the little one hang out sans diaper. So three layers of cotton batting, part of a vintage vera sheet and some haphazard sewing came together to make this quilt. No measuring, no ironing, no pinning - just some renegade sewing. And most importantly, this play mat was made, start to finish, during one nap time.
Nothing, and I do mean nothing, is cuter than naked baby butts...

From here, the quilt looks great! Martha would be proud (teasing). This photo is so perfect.

As I described previously, do not buy the most affordable device you will find and contact it good. Keep in thoughts the saying “you get what you pay for.” Inexpensive devices (those under $100) are developed for very mild periodic use.
